Part of the ministry of the Expository Preaching Trust is to provide preaching mentors.
The Trust has five experienced preachers who offer mentoring on a regular, usually weekly, basis.
The mentor usually listens to the mentee’s Sunday sermon and then they reflect together on the sermon’s engagement with the Bible text and the people.
The sessions are conducted via Zoom and last 30-60 minutes and include some discussion about the sermon for the coming week.
Most commonly, issues of engagement and application are high on agenda.
At the end of the semester mentees are rotated to another mentor to get the benefit of another viewpoint.
The mentoring sessions are provided by the Trust free of charge.
