We pray this site might enrich and spiritually encourage you as a preacher or hearer of God’s word.

For over 40 years, God has used the ministry of David Cook to strengthen the faith of His people through expository preaching, and to train thousands of other preachers to do the same. This site, and the Expository Preaching Trust behind it, seeks to make David’s ministry and resources more accessible.

David has a deep commitment to the power of the word of God, the sword of the Holy Spirit, to save the lost and to feed the church. For this reason, David has a particular passion to see pastors preaching carefully, engagingly, and with clear application for everyday living.

About David

David Cook is a graduate of Sydney Missionary and Bible College and Moore Theological College.

For ten years David pastored two Presbyterian churches, one in country NSW, Wee Waa and one in inner city Ashfield, in Sydney.

For 26 years David was the Principal of SMBC (1986-2011). For all those years David lectured in Preaching. For 13 years he was the Chairman of the Katoomba Christian convention(1991-2004).

After leaving SMBC David and his wife, Maxine set up the Expository Preaching Trust in order to encourage faithful and engaging preaching of the Bible.
